Whiskey Passion

A bright Blinker/Sour riff from Chicago’s Bordel with winter citrus and some slightly tropical flavors to fight the winter cold The baking spice and black pepper notes in the rye whiskey work nicely with the bright, tart notes of the grapefruit. The lemon balances the bitterness of the citrus while the splashed of passionfruit and vanilla liqueurs round out the drink with some complementary tropical accents 1.5 oz Rye Whiskey (I prefer a blend of 100 proof bottled in bond rye like Rittenhouse along with a lower proof option that brings some different notes, but a single type for full amount also works great) .75 oz Fresh Grapefruit Juice .75 oz Fresh Lemon Juice .25 oz Passionfruit Liqueur (Giffard; but passionfruit syrup from Small Hand Foods also works) .25 oz Vanilla Liqueur (Licor 43 or Giffard; vanilla syrup also would sub) Shake with ice and strain into a chilled double rocks glass with a few ice cubes. Garnish with a dehydrated citrus wheel bisected by a sprig of rosemary
