Wall of Sound

A powerful Old-Fashioned variation with tropical accents from the Winter Death & Co menu
The smoky peat from the Islay Scotch works very well with the rich coconut flavor from the Kalani. The banana/pineapple aromas from the funky, overproof Jamaican rum mingle with the coconut to give tropical notes to a drink that’s normally more straightlaced. The bourbon provides a nice, stable base for the other flavors
1.5 oz Bourbon (Elijah Craig is the Death & Co call, but I really like the McKenna in stirred drinks)
.5 oz Islay Scotch (Bruichladdich Port Charlotte pictured, but Laphroaig, Caol Ila, etc would also work well)
.25 oz Rum Fire (overproof Jamaican rum with very distinctive ripe banana/pineapple nose)
.25 oz Coconut Liqueur (Kalani or bust)
1 dash Bitter Truth Moroccan Bitters
1 dash Aromatic Bitters (Abbott’s, Bitter Truth Aromatic, Angostura, etc)
Stir with ice, strain into chilled double rocks glass with a large ice cube. Garnish with a lemon twist
