The Breadcrumb Trail

A refreshing, autumnal Highball riff/beer cocktail that works great as a change of gears during Oktoberfest season πΊπππ
The subtle botanical notes in the German gin work in great harmony with the pear flavors (present in the Eau de vie and echoed in the liqueur). The malt notes in the Genever gin and the deep sweetness of the salted honey syrup help tie things together between the pear and the baked bread and graham cracker notes in the Helles lager while the fresh lemon juice helps lengthen and brighten the drink
1 oz Gin (Monkey 47 has a lot of floral and botanical notes in the background that work really well with the beer; St George Botanivore could sub)
.5 oz Genever Gin (Dutch gin with more malty notes; Bols, Duff, etc)
.5 oz Pear Eau de vie (St George, Clear Creek, etc)
.75 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
.5 oz salted honey syrup (2 parts honey: 1 part warm water; add pinch of salt and stir until dissolved)
Tsp Spiced Pear Liqueur (St George makes a great bottle)
Shake with ice and strain into a chilled Collins glass with a few ice cubes. Top with 2 oz Helles Lager (a German lager if you canβt specifically find Helles). Garnish with a pear fan and lemon twist
