The Apex of the Vortex

A tall, refreshing beer cocktail that riffs on the Arnold Palmer and peach iced tea 🍑🍍 The Japanese blended whisky and peach eau de vie combine to form a flavorful base with plentiful stonefruit notes and a touch of honey. The flavorful yet tart peach/pineapple sour beer combines with the pineapple juice, lemon, and black tea liqueur to produce a delicious mixture that has citrus, dry tannins and is reminiscent of an Arnold Palmer. Additions of splashes of peach and passion fruit liqueurs boost the fruit flavor and balance the acidity. Refreshing and dangerously drinkable!
1 oz Blended Malt Japanese Whisky (Suntory Toki is a great option)
.5 oz Peach Eau de Vie/Brandy (Kuchan makes my favorite, there might be a few others)
.5 oz Ceylon Tea Liqueur (Bar Matt, could sub with Ceylon or Earl Grey Tea syrup)
.25 oz Fresh Pineapple Juice
.25 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
.25 oz Peach Liqueur (Giffard)
Tsp Passion Fruit Liqueur (can probably sub Small Hand Foods Passionfruit syrup)
Shake with ice and strain into a chilled Collins glass with ice cubes. Top with 1.5 oz of fruited sour beer (Modern Times Fruitlands is probably most widely available, but Mraz Brewing’s Peachapple Express is pretty much ideal here if you can find it in your area). No garnish
