Tea Vermouth Cocktail

An elegant and versatile low ABV sipper from Kumiko in Chicago that can serve as a scaffold for several related drinks depending on supplies at hand
The earthy, grassy notes from the green tea blend very well with the floral and spice notes in the vermouth (works with Sweet, Dry, and Blanc versions, each with slightly different flavors) while the lemon oil and bitters boost the aroma
2 oz Vermouth of choice (Lo-Fi’s lovely, chamomile and cocoa-accented Sweet Vermouth shown; just make sure the vermouth is relatively fresh (~1 month or less since opening)
1.5 oz Green Tea (brew green tea and allow to cool to room temp)
2 dashes Aromatic Bitters of choice (Angostura, Abbott’s, Bitter Truth Aromatic, etc)
Stir with ice and strain into a chilled coupe that has been rinsed with 1/2 tsp of Absinthe/Pernod/Herbsaint. Express the oils from a lemon twist over the drink surface and discard the twist. Garnish with a slice of blood orange
