Still Living With Your Ghost

A bold and flavorful Three Dots and a Dash riff with a trio of whiskies and cherry and vanilla accents 🍹🍒🍨👻 The trio of overproof bourbon, aged Tennessee whiskey, and rye creates a base with notes of baking spice, vanilla, caramel and red fruits that work in great harmony with the fresh citrus (from lemon and orange juice) and the cherry (from splashes of cherry Eau de vie and Maraschino liqueur) and vanilla (Licor 43) notes. A bit of cola accented Italian Amaro (Amaro Meletti) and a dash of Angostura bitters bring some complementary notes of allspice, clove, and cola to tie everything together .75 oz Overproof Bourbon (Old Forester Prohibition, Old Grand-Dad 114, etc) .5 oz Rye Whiskey (New Riff has vanilla notes that are nice here) .5 oz Aged Tennessee Whiskey (George Dickel Barrel Select is a great option) .25 oz Cherry Eau de Vie/Kirschwasser (Unaged cherry brandy that originated in Central Europe; Several European stalwarts; Rhine Hall and Clear Creek make nice bottles in the US) .5 oz Fresh Lemon Juice .5 oz Fresh Orange Juice (if available, Cara Cara oranges offer more flavor; naval orange can sub) .5 oz Honey Syrup (2 parts honey to 1 part warm water; stir until dissolved) .25 oz Amaro Meletti (Italian Amaro with mild bittersweet notes and pronounced cola notes) 1/2 Tsp Maraschino Liqueur (Luxardo or Leopold Brothers) 1/2 Tsp Vanilla Liqueur (Giffard or Licor 43) 1 dash Angostura bitters Shake with ice and strain into a footed pilsner or tulip glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with a swizzle stick or pineapple frond and three brandied cherries on a pick #weekendtiki #whenipassthebreakers
