A delicious Daiquiri/Margarita variation from the eminent Phil Ward during his time at Death & Co that highlights the delicate flavors of the ripe Bartlett pear 🍐
The natural flavor of the Bartlett pear is boosted by the spiced pear liqueur and cane syrup and the floral notes/agave flavors of the blanco tequila work harmoniously with the pear, while allowing both tequila and pear to shine. The lemon adds a needed acidic counterbalance
Cut 1/2 a ripe Bartlett pear into cubes and muddle in a shaker with .5 oz Cane or 2:1 Rich Simple Syrup
Add:
2 oz Blanco Tequila .25 oz Pear Liqueur (St George Spiced Pear Liqueur gives some nice spice notes, but Rothman & Winter should work too)
.5 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
Shake with ice and double strain into a chilled double rocks glass with a few ice cubes. Garnish with a slice of Bartlett pear
