Squeaky Wheel

A dark, rich Negroni riff (it’s only fair, being Negroni week!) from NYC’s Nick Bennett with flavors reminiscent of Mexican chocolate 🍫 The smoke notes in the mezcal and the roasted notes in the coffee liqueur work to provide a nice, flavorful base while the bittersweet and juicy Campari keeps things light. The splash of Amaretto works nicely with the orange twist to bridge the flavors and aromas and the bitters add a touch of spice. A delicious after-dinner drink! 1 oz Mezcal (Espadin variety) 1 oz Campari (or other red aperitivo of choice) .75 oz Coffee Liqueur (the chicory notes in the St George NOLA are nice, but feel free to use your favorite) .25 oz Amaretto 2 dashes Angostura Bitters Stir with ice and strain into a chilled double rocks glass with a few ice cubes. Garnish with an orange twist
