A refreshing, cooling Sour/Collins riff from Trevor Easter of Sacramento bar The Snug that is a perfectdrink for awaiting Spring 🥒🍋 The gin botanicals marry nicely with the refreshing sweetness of the cucumber and the bright lemon juice while the additions of sherry and orgeat balance the acidity and add a hint of nuttiness in the background. The dashes of absinthe and cucumber bitters boost the herbal, green notes in the drink. As a side note, these flavors should also work if either blanco tequila or blended scotch are subbed for the gin Muddle 3 cucumber wheels with .75 oz Orgeat (almond syrup; Small Hand Foods), 2 dashes Absinthe, 1 dash Bitter Truth Cucumber Bitters in mixing tin Add: 1.5 oz Gin (London Dry and New American styles should both work) .5 oz Amontillado Sherry (drier sherry with a hint of nutty flavor) .75 oz Fresh Lemon Juice Shake with ice and strain into a chilled footed pilsner glass with crushed ice. Garnish with a cucumber ribbon
