Spindrift

A cool, refreshing low ABV Sour riff from ace bartender Julia Momose with flavors of summer melon, citrus, and sugarcane 🍹🍈🥒 The junmai ginjo Sake is light with background notes of fruit and melon and works very nicely with the grassy sugarcane and fruity olive notes of the unaged cachaca to enhance the flavors of the juiced ripe honeydew melon. Small additions of fresh lime juice and simple syrup help dial in the acidity and body of the drink. Incredibly balanced and delightful! 1 oz Junmai Ginjo Sake (clear, light with subtle fruit notes) .5 oz Unaged Cachaca (Avua Prata, Novo Fogo Silver, etc) 1.5 oz Fresh Honeydew Juice (taste after juicing and if your melon was not very sweet, adding a Tbsp of granulated sugar to the mix would be wise) .5 oz Fresh Lime Juice .5 oz Simple Syrup (equal volumes of granulated sugar and water; stir until dissolved) Shake with ice and strain into a chilled double rocks glass with a large ice cube. Garnish with a twist or two of fresh cracked black pepper
