Southpaw Swizzle

A tall refreshing Swizzle/Highball riff from Seattle via NOLA bartending ace Abigail Gullo that is perfect for beating the heat 🍹🌴🥥 The blend of unaged agricole rhum and manzanilla sherry forms a base with notes of fresh cut grass, sugarcane, green apple, and a touch of sea breeze that works really well with the bright, tart lime juice and the cooling coconut water. Honey syrup helps lend body while also working with the coconut water to provide a nice round background sweetness. A float of funky Overproof Jamaican rum adds notes of roasted tropical fruit and a pleasant aroma 1 oz Unaged Agricole Rhum (Sugarcane based rum from the Caribbean; Rhum JM, Neisson, La Favorite, etc) 1 oz Manzanilla Sherry (drier sherry that is more like fortified white wine; notes of green apple, subtle almond, sea brine; Bodegas Yuste, Hidalgo, La Guita, etc) .75 oz Fresh Lime Juice .75 oz Honey Syrup (2 parts honey: 1 part warm water; stir until honey is fully incorporated with the water) 1.5 oz Coconut Water (Harmless Harvest makes a great product) Shake with ice and strain into a chilled Collins glass with ice cubes. Float .75 oz Overproof Jamaican Rum (Smith & Cross, Hampden Overproof, etc). Garnish with a swizzle stick, a lime wheel, and toasted coconut #weekendtiki #pooldrinks
