Slick Watts

A Boulevardier variation with a hint of berry from Alex Negranza of Houston’s Better Luck Tomorrow
The Campari cuts the richness of the overproof bourbon and sweet vermouth. The fruity notes in the Vermouth di Torino melds really well with the blackberry to give a nice dark fruit accent to this classic
1.5 oz Bourbon (Old Grand-Dad works nicely)
.75 oz Sweet Vermouth (a bottle like Cocchi’s Vermouth di Torino with fruitier notes works best with the other flavors)
.25 oz Campari (or other favorite bitter, red Aperitivo)
.25 oz Blackberry Liqueur (Giffard or Leopold are best)
1 dash Bitter Truth Creole or Peychaud’s Bitters
Stir with ice, strain into chilled glass with a few ice cubes. Garnish with on orange twist (can also add a cherry and blackberry if feeling fancy)
