Sixteen Blue

A refreshingly savory Sour/Highball hybrid with notes of pineapple, citrus, green chiles, and herbs 🍹🍍🫑
The citrus zest and cracked pepper notes in the unaged tequila combine with the cilantro and green chile notes in the infused vodka to form a savory base that is accented by the herbal notes in the Alpine liqueur, the tropical notes in the pineapple liqueur, the clove/lime zest notes in the Falernum, and the warming ginger and baking spice notes from the Tiki bitters. Fresh lime helps add balancing acidity while helping bridge the flavors and the pineapple mint sparkling water helps add effervescence while boosting the tropical and herbal notes. Fantastic to accompany a plate of tacos or other favorites from Mexico/Central America
1 oz Blanco Tequila (Tapatio, El Tesoro, Fortaleza, etc)
.5 oz Green Chile Vodka (St George makes a great bottle with prominent jalapeño, poblano, cilantro notes)
.5 oz Genepy Alpine Liqueur (herbal sweetness from several Alpine herbs and botanicals; also great in hot chocolate)
.5 oz Fresh Lime Juice
.25 oz Falernum (Rum-based liqueur with clove and lime zest from Barbados; John D Taylor, etc)
.25 oz Pineapple Liqueur (Giffard; can also sub pineapple gomme syrup)
1 dash Bittermens Elemakule Tiki Bitters
Pinch of salt
Shake with ice and strain into a chilled double rocks glass with a few ice cubes. Top with 1.5 oz of Pineapple Mint Seltzer (Juice Shop; Pineapple Tepache would also work well) Garnish with a few fresh cilantro leaves
