Sic Transit Gloria

A rum-based Manhattan riff with accents reminiscent of Cherry Coke (with a bit more bitterness)
While those that regularly read the feed are probably not shocked I used my spirit of choice in my drink template of choice, the molasses and vanilla notes in the El Dorado combine very well with the cola and spice notes of the Meletti while the Amargo Vallet lends a cherry note (while also bringing a drying/bitter note to a drink that could beer into too sweet). The bitters lend additional cherry, dark chocolate, and spice notes
2 oz Blended Aged Rum (El Dorado 12 works great, imagine Angostura 1919, Diplomatico, etc could sub)
.5 oz Amaro Meletti
.25 oz Amargo-Vallet (Angostura bark Amaro that is steeped with cherries)
1 dash Bittercube Cherry Bark Vanilla Bitters
1 dash Chocolate/Mole Bitters (Bittermens, Scrappy’s, etc)
Stir with ice, strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a lemon twist
