A variation of a Rum Old Fashioned (or Bumbo as it was initially known) with a few rich accents The honey syrup and coconut flavor combination is quite pleasant with a deep, interesting sweetness which meld nicely with the Vanilla notes in the blended aged rum. The Overproof Dark Rum and Lime Bitters cut the sweetness while the Tiki bitters add the cinnamon accent sometimes found in this drink 1.5 oz Blended Aged Rum (Santa Teresa or El Dorado 12 year are nice choices, want to make with a rum you’re happy to sip neat but not too fancy) .5 oz Overproof Dark Rum (Plantation OFTD, Lemonhart 151, etc) .25 oz Honey Syrup (2 parts honey: 1 part warm water) .25 oz Coconut Liqueur (Kalani) 1 dash Bittermens Elemakule Tiki Bitters 1 dash Scrappy’s Lime Bitters Stir with ice and strain into chilled double rocks glass with a large ice cube. Garnish with freshly ground nutmeg
