Rough Seas

A spicy, Dark & Stormy riff created by Sother Teague for Tiki by the Sea The spice of the ginger syrup is amplified by the ginger notes in the Jagermeister while being joined by anise, cinnamon, and grapefruit peel which work really well with the grass and tropical funk of the cachaca, the nutty orgeat, and tart citrus 1 oz Cachaca (Brazilian sugarcane based spirit) 1 oz Jagermeister (actually a complex, useful cocktail ingredient, I promise) .75 oz Fresh Lemon Juice .75 oz Orgeat (syrup from almonds and orange flower water; Small Hand Foods makes my favorite) Scant .5 oz Ginger Syrup (2 parts granulated sugar: 1 part fresh ginger juice, blend until uniform) Shake with ice and strain into a chilled Collins glass with crushed ice. Garnish with swizzle stick and 3-4 heavy dashes of Peychaud’s Bitters #weekendtiki
