River Styx

A spiced and spicy riff on the Tiki classic Saturn from NYC drink whiz Karen Fu
The bright, sweet/tart passionfruit and lemon combination is still intact while the citrus/vegetal/tropical fruit notes in the blanco tequila replace the gin. The caraway and anise notes in the unaged aquavit and the cinnamon syrup supply some complementary spices, and the Sherry and Jamaican Pot Still Dark rum add some body with their toffee/molasses/caramel notes. The addition of habanero tincture adds a spicy finish to each tasty sip
1 oz Blanco Tequila (100% agave; I like Tapatio or El Tesoro, but plenty work)
.5 oz Unaged Aquavit (Krogstad is my choice)
.5 oz Pot Still Jamaican Dark Rum (Hamilton Jamaican Black, Coruba)
.5 oz Pale Cream Sherry (Lustau East India Solera Sherry)
.75 oz Passionfruit Syrup (Small Hand Foods)
.75 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
.75 oz Cinnamon Syrup (toast 3-4 cinnamon sticks until fragrant, add 1/2 C each granulated sugar and warm water, stir on medium/low heat until dissolved and let cinnamon steep for 3-4 minutes before straining)
2-3 dashes Bittermens Hellfire Habanero Shrub
Shake with ice and strain into a chilled footed pilsner glass or Tiki mug filled with crushed ice. Garnish with a swizzle stick or paper umbrella if handy
