Ridin Dirty

A dark, bittersweet Manhattan riff with notes of chocolate, red fruits, baking spice, and citrus peel 🥃🍫🍒🍊
The blend of Bonded rye whiskey and blended Scotch contributes notes of baking spice, honey, and subtle notes of vanilla and smoke that help accentuate the chocolate/cocoa notes in the two Amaros, the sweet vermouth, and chocolate/chile bitters. The Brucato woodlands (berries/red fruit) and Nardini (orange peel, subtle menthol) also add complementary flavor notes while also contributing some bitterness that helps counterbalance any rich notes. The Bitters also lend subtle spice, coffee, pecan notes and the orange twist adds a pleasant aroma to each sip
1.25 oz Rye Whiskey (Bottled in Bond options like Rittenhouse or New Riff bring more concentrated baking spice notes)
.75 oz Blended Scotch (Compass Box Great King St Glasgow has a nice balance of malt and subtle peat smoke)
.5 oz Sweet Vermouth (Carpano Antica and Cocchi Vermouth di Torino both have a richness that works well here)
.25 oz Amaro Nardini (Italian Amaro with medium bittersweetness and milk chocolate/menthol/citrus peel notes)
.25 oz Amaro Brucato Woodlands (dark chocolate and red fruit/berry notes with mild bitterness)
2 dashes Miracle Mile Chocolate Chile Bitters (Bittermens Xocolatl Mole also a good sub)
1 dash Walnut or Pecan bitters (Miracle Mile, El Guapo, Fee Brothers, etc)
Stir with ice and strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with an orange twist (first expressing essential oils over the drink)
