A delicious tropical Old Fashioned riff with accents of tropical fruit and a touch of smoke 🏝🥃 The brown sugar notes in the aged column still rum combine with the custard/vanilla notes in the Nikka Coffey Grain whiskey to provide a flavorful base. The Islay scotch brings notes of sherry and smoke and the combination of liqueurs provide complementary tropical fruit, vanilla, and coconut notes. The combination of bitters bring notes of cinnamon, ginger, black pepper and bay leaf. Absolutely delicious after dinner drink!
1 oz Aged Column Still Rum (Don Q Anejo cask strength, Ron Del Barrelito, etc)
.5 oz Nikka Coffey Grain Whiskey (Japanese grain whiskey with distinctive custard and vanilla notes)
.5 oz Single Malt Islay Scotch (Caol Ila 12, Laguvulin 16, Ardbeg 10, etc)
.25 oz Passionfruit Liqueur (Giffard; could also sub Passionfruit syrup from Small Hand Foods)
Tsp Vanilla Liqueur (Licor 43, Giffard)
Tsp Coconut Liqueur (Kalani)
2 dashes Bittermens Elemakule Tiki Bitters
1 dash Bitter End Chesapeake Bay Bitters
Stir with ice and strain into a chilled double rocks glass with a large ice cube. Garnish with a lemon twist
