Radio Rebelde

A slight riff on a delicious Remember the Maine variation from Brian Tasch of NYC’s excellent Pouring Ribbons that proves you can have a drink that is both really strong and yet fruit forward in flavor 🍒
The grape backbone of the overproof brandy really highlights the cherry flavor of the Kirschwasser/cherry eau de vie while the sweet vermouth contributes a bit more fruit along with spice and cocoa notes while the herbal bittersweet Fernet and allspice/clove-forward bitters contribute some additional layers. Such a tasty drink
2 oz Overproof Brandy (Sacred Bond or Copper & Kings Butchertown are excellent options)
.5 oz Sweet Vermouth (Cocchi Vermouth di Torino, Lo-Fi are excellent options for blend of spice and fruit notes)
.5 oz Kirschwasser/Cherry Eau de Vie (Clear Creek, Rhine Hall, etc)
.25 oz Fernet (Contratto is my favorite, but can certainly use Branca, Fernet Vallet, etc)
2 dashes Allspice-forward bitters (Degroff Pimento Bitters, Bitter Truth Jerry Thomas’ Own Decanter Bitters, etc)
Stir with ice and strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a brandied cherry
