Radio Flyer

A refreshing summertime Sour from bartending wizard Matthew Belanger featuring notes of watermelon, citrus, spice, and subtle smoke 🍹🍉🌶 The blended scotch and bonded whiskey contribute notes of honey, vanilla, and subtle smoke that work in great harmony with the watermelon (syrup) and lime notes. A little aperitivo lends a bittersweet note and a touch of vanilla while the bitters add some complementary sumac and habanero spice notes. A delicious drink as the weather warms! 1.5 oz Blended Scotch (Great King St Glasgow blend has a nice peat smoke note; Monkey Shoulder is another good option) .5 oz Bonded Whiskey (Woodinville, Rittenhouse, Wyoming Whiskey, etc) .5 oz Cappelletti Aperitivo (Bittersweet aperitivo with a bit more funk and vanilla than Campari (which is a decent sub)) .75 oz Fresh Lime Juice .75 oz Watermelon Syrup (1/4 C each watermelon juice and granulated sugar; stir until sugar has dissolved; add 1 teaspoon vodka to help with life in refrigerator) 1 dash Bittermens Hellfire Habanero Shrub (Bitter End Jerk Bitters also work well) 1 dash Bitter End Moroccan Bitters Shake with ice and strain into a chilled double rocks glass with a large ice cube. Garnish with a lime wheel #watermelontime
