Pupule/Nui Nui

A well-spiced Tiki-classic Daiquiri riff from the genius mind of Don the Beachcomber πΏπ The bright citrus notes of the orange and lime juices give a lot of zing to the mix of brown sugar and caramelized sugar notes in the rum and the allspice, vanilla, cinnamon, and clove notes from the liqueurs, syrup, and bitters. Archetypically delicious Tiki drink
2 oz Aged Column Still Rum (Don Q Anejo, Ron Abuelo, etc)
.75 oz Fresh Lime Juice .75 oz Fresh Orange Juice
.25 oz Vanilla Syrup or Liqueur (Licor 43 or Giffard for the latter)
.25 oz Cinnamon Bark Syrup (crush 3-4 cinnamon sticks in pot and toast until fragrant; add 1/2 C each granulated sugar and water; stir on medium-low heat until sugar dissolves and solution is near boiling; back heat down to low and simmer 5 minutes before straining)
.25 oz Allspice Liqueur (St Elizabeth, Degroff Pimento)
1 dash Angostura Bitters
Shake with ice and strain into a chilled footed pilsner glass with crushed ice. Line neck of glass with orange peel and garnish with a swizzle stick (a sprig of fresh mint is also great if handy)
