Prawn’s Own Grog

A variation of the Tiki classic, Don’s Own Grog, from Chicago’s Lost Lake that adds some Jamaican flare
The mix of funky, ester-forward Jamaican rums pairs very well with the deep sweetness from the blackberry liqueur and bit of pomegranate. The bit of allspice adds spice and the lime brightens things
1 oz Aged Jamaican Rum (Plantation Jamaican 2002, Appleton 12, Worthy Park 10 year, etc)
.5 oz Jamaican Overproof Rum (Hampden Rum Fire, Wray & Nephew, Smith & Cross)
.5 oz Multi-island blended rum (Cadenhead, Plantation offers a few, Banks 5 or 7)
.75 oz Fresh Lime Juice
.5 oz Blackberry Liqueur (Giffard makes my favorite)
.25 oz Rich Simple Syrup (2:1)
1 tsp Allspice Liqueur
1 dash grenadine (can sub pomegranate molasses for deeper flavor)
1 dash Angostura
1 dash Absinthe
Shake with ice and strain into chilled double rocks glass with crushed ice. Garnish with blackberries, sprig of mint, freshly grated nutmeg
