Peppermint Bark Eggnog

A comforting, satisfying winter eggnog riff from Tom Macy of Brooklyn’s Clover Club that is perfect for sipping by the fire after dinner or apres-ski ❄️ The two winter flavors of peppermint and chocolate standout while the split rum and cognac provides a sturdy base with a few notes of molasses and subtle fruit and the egg and cream provide the classic richness needed in a flip/eggnog 1 oz Blended Aged Rum (Diplomatico, El Dorado 8, etc) 1 oz Cognac (VSOP is best, but a nice VS also works) .5 oz Creme de Cacao (Tempus Fugit, Marie Brizard, etc) .5 oz Creme de Menthe (Tempus Fugit, Giffard Menthe Pastille, etc) .5 oz Heavy Whipping Cream 1 whole egg Dry shake all ingredients 10-15 seconds, add ice and shake again for another 10-15 seconds until frothy and well-mixed. Strain into chilled double rocks glass. Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg
