Peaches and (Coconut) Cream

A cooling, playful riff on the tiki classic Tradewinds that highlights the flavor of fresh summer stonefruit 🍑🥥🍹 The baking spice and vanilla notes in the blend of bourbon and rye whiskies provide a complementary base for the peach flavors in both the freshly muddled peach, peach brandy, and splash of peach liqueur while the coconut creme provides richness and body and the fresh lemon juice helps balance the drink and add zip. The honey syrup helps round the edges and boost the peach flavor while the ginger liqueur and ginger/allspice notes in the Jamaican bitters add complementary spice notes Muddle 3-4 slices of ripe yellow peach in .25 oz Honey Syrup (equal parts honey and warm water, stir until combined) Add: 1 oz Bourbon (Buffalo Trace, Elijah Craig, Smooth Ambler, etc) .5 oz Rye Whiskey (Bottled in bond options like Rittenhouse or New Riff offer more concentrated flavor) .5 oz Peach Eau de Vie (Kuchan, Rhine Hall, etc) 1.5 oz Coconut Creme (equal volumes of unsweetened coconut milk and 2:1 coconut water: granulated sugar syrup and a pinch of salt; stir until combined) 1 oz Fresh Lemon Juice .25 oz Ginger Liqueur (King’s Ginger, Giffard, etc) Tsp Peach Liqueur (Giffard) 1 dash Bittercube Jamaican #1 Bitters (ginger and allspice) Shake with ice and strain into a snifter or Mai Tai glass with a few ice cubes.
