Old Scratch

A delicious Tiki-fied take on a Sour from Kelsey Ramage of Trash Tiki (slightly modified) that is a great holiday weekend sipper The roasted stone fruit/persimmon/gingerbread/toffee notes of the Speyside single malt scotch work brilliantly with the coconut and passionfruit flavors while the Amaro Nonino adds subtle, complementary notes of caramel and orange peel. The lemon juice adds a bright zing and the orange bitters reinforce the citrus and passionfruit flavors. Delicious! 1.5 oz Speyside Single Malt Scotch (Craigellachie, GlenDronach, Aberlour, etc) .5 oz Amaro Nonino (an elegant Italian amaro with subtle bitterness and caramel/orange peel notes) .75 oz Fresh Lemon Juice .5 oz Coconut Liqueur (Kalani) .25 oz Passionfruit Syrup (Small Hand Foods, etc) 2 dashes Orange Bitters (I like to split my Orange Bitters between Regan’s and Angostura Orange to balance spice and fresh orange) Shake with ice and strain into a chilled Collins glass with crushed ice. Garnish with a dehydrated orange slice (thin orange slices at 200 degrees for 2-3 hours) and a swizzle stick #weekendtiki
