Ode to Viceroy

A riff on the Mamie Taylor from The Mercury in Atlanta that has a spicy bite that is great on a hot afternoon The fresh ginger syrup and clove notes from the Falernum pair very well with the tart lime and the slight bit of peaty smoke in the blended Scotch adds a nice accent 1.5 oz Blended Scotch (Great King St Glasgow Blend is my favorite option for the hint of peat; can probably sub 1.25 oz other blended scotch with .25 oz of an Islay like Laphroaig 10) .5 oz Fresh Lime Juice .5 oz Falernum (John D Taylor, Beachbum Berry, etc) .25 oz Ginger Syrup (1 volume fresh ginger juice: 2 volumes granulated sugar; blend until uniform) Shake with ice and strain into a chilled double rocks glass with a few ice cubes. Garnish with a lime wheel
