Nothing Compears 2 U

An autumnal Old Fashioned riff with fall fruit and baking spice notes 🍐💜 The baking spice and butterscotch notes in the reposado tequila work very nicely with the pear notes in the liqueur and the apple notes in the aged brandy while notes of cinnamon, vanilla, clove, and ginger are boosted by the spiced liqueur and bitters. Delightful after a brisk afternoon outside or after dinner 1.5 oz Reposado Tequila (bottle pictured from Siembra Azul is actually a blend of extra anejo and reposado, but regular El Tesoro, Ocho, Arte Nom reposado will also work great) .5 oz Apple Brandy (Aged version like St George or Clear Creek are a bit softer than Laird’s Bonded for this drink) Scant .5 oz Spiced Pear Liqueur (St George; Rothman and Winter Pear could sub, but you lose the nice spice notes) Barspoon Rich Simple Syrup (2:1) 2 dashes Bitter Truth Jerry Thomas’s Own Decanter Bitters (pronounced clove notes) 1 dash Bittermens Elemakule Tiki Bitters (cinnamon and ginger notes) Stir with ice and strain into a chilled double rocks glass with a large ice cube. Garnish with a lemon twist
