Nine Crimes

A dessert-appropriate daiquiri riff (that’s a thing, right? Right!) from Frank McGrath of San Diego’s excellent Polite Provisions The spices and subtle sweetness in the rye work with the Creme de Cacao to give a decadent, almost spiced-brownie finish to the drink while the orange notes in the Grand Marnier combine with the lime juice to give a softer citrus note that trades on the classic orange/chocolate dessert pairing. Definitely a good nightcap drink 2 oz Rye Whiskey (Higher proof bottle like Rittenhouse, Wild Turkey 101, James Pepper are best) .75 oz Fresh Lime Juice .5 oz Grand Marnier (Orange liqueur with a cognac base) .25 oz Creme de Cacao (Tempus Fugit) Shake with ice and strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a lime wheel
