Never Hungover Again

A refreshing, summery Gin Highball riff with notes of watermelon, green chile, citrus and cucumber 🍹🍉🌶🥒 The base of Japanese gin and green chile vodka has notes of citrus peel, juniper, and green chile that helps accentuate the melon (watermelon syrup, Chareau, watermelon jalapeño Tepache) and cucumber (Chareau, cucumber bitters) flavors. A splash of fennel/star anise forward Aquavit adds complementary spice notes while a bit of Aperol adds a nice bittersweet undertone that helps bridge the other flavors with the zippy fresh lime juice. Incredibly flavorful and refreshing and a great pre-dinner drink in summer! .75 oz Japanese Gin (Roku, Nikka, etc; a citrus friendly New American style gin is a good sub) .5 oz St George Green Chile Vodka (vodka infused with jalapeño, poblano, serrano, and cilantro) .25 oz Unaged Aquavit (Krogstad has nice fennel/star anise notes that complement the other flavors) .25 oz Aperol (bittersweet Aperitivo that is less intense than Campari) .75 oz Fresh Lime Juice .5 oz Watermelon syrup (equal volumes watermelon and granulated sugar with a squeeze of fresh lime juice; blend until sugar has dissolved) .25 oz Chareau Aloe Liqueur (green melon and cucumber notes) 1 dash Bitter Truth Cucumber Bitters Shake with ice and strain into a chilled Collins glass filled with ice cubes. Top with 2 oz of De La Calle Watermelon Jalapeño Tepache. Garnish with a swizzle stick #listentojoycemanor
