Necromancer

A crisp, elegant Tiki-fied riff on the classic Corpse Reviver from Vincent Bright of Chicago’s excellent Lost Lake that brings some funk and spice to the original 🧙🏼‍♂️🏝 Subbing the grassy funk of rhum agricole for the more herbal gin takes things in a funkier direction while subbing the tart and aromatic grapefruit and the island spice notes of Falernum in place of lemon and orange liqueur steers the drink in a decidedly tropical direction. The addition of fortified white wine helps bridge the flavors and a dash of absinthe gives a hint of complementary anise flavor at the end of each sip 1.5 oz Unaged Rhum Agricole (Neisson, Rhum JM, La Favorite all work great) .75 oz Fresh Grapefruit Juice .75 oz Fortified White Wine-based Aperitivo (Cocchi Americano, Lillet Blanc, Kina L’Avion) .5 oz Falernum (rum-based liqueur with cloves and lime zest; John D Taylor or other similar bottle) 1 dash Absinthe Shake with ice and strain into a chilled coupe. No garnish #weekendtiki
