Mr Wednesday

A bright, refreshing riff on a Daiquiri/Sour from Matthew Belanger featuring notes of roasted bananas, citrus, and funky rum
The unaged aquavit lends some spice notes that nicely accent the roasted tropical fruit and funk notes in the pot still Jamaican rum and the molasses notes in the blackstrap rum. Banana liqueur and nutty orgeat add rich fruit and nut notes that complement the base spirits. Some fresh lemon juice brings balancing acidity and brightens the drink
1.25 oz Unaged Aquavit (Krogstad Aquavit has fennel and star anise notes that are good here)
.5 oz Pot Still Jamaican Overproof Rum (Smith & Cross, Rum Fire, etc)
.25 oz Blackstrap Rum (prominent molasses notes; Cruzan makes a good bottle)
.5 oz Banana Liqueur (Giffard or Tempus Fugit)
1 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
.75 oz Orgeat (nut-based syrup; most frequently with almonds; Small Hand Foods makes a good bottle)
Shake with ice and strain into a footed pilsner or Mai Tai glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with a cocktail umbrella or edible flower
