Midnight Mountain

A lower ABV drink from Brad Farran during his time at NYC’s Death & Co that tastes like a liquid Thin Mint. Makes an excellent nightcap! The notes of mint and chocolate that are already present in the Amaro Nardini are boosted by the liqueurs while the vermouth brings a bit of cocoa and vanilla and the essential oils from the orange twist tie things together 1.5 oz Amaro Nardini (Italian amaro that has moderate bitterness and notes of milk chocolate and mint (without the more vegetal notes in Cynar) 1 oz Sweet Vermouth (Carpano Antica or Cocchi Vermouth di Torino) .25 oz Creme de Cacao (Tempus Fugit makes my favorite) .25 oz Creme de Menthe (Tempus Fugit again, but Giffard’s Menthe de Pastille is also excellent) Stir with ice and strain into a chilled double rocks glass with a large ice cube. Garnish by expressing oils from an orange twist (discard the twist)
