A rich, yet tropical Flip/Egg Nog riff fit for enjoying during an island holiday escape
The passionfruit and vanilla notes from the liqueurs provide delicious accenting flavors that enhance the caramelized sugar, molasses, and coffee notes in the Aged Bajan (Barbados) and Overproof rums while the aged cachaca brings notes of tropical fruit and cinnamon. The heavy cream and egg add richness and body while the Jamaican bitters add accents of ginger and allspice. Perfect for holiday parties or solitary sipping after dinner .75 oz Aged Blended Rum (Real McCoy 12 yr is an excellent choice; English Harbor would also work well)
.5 oz Aged Cachaca (Avua Amburana, Novo Fogo Gold)
.25 oz Overproof Rum (Plantation OFTD, etc)
.25 oz Passionfruit Liqueur .25 oz Vanilla Liqueur (Licor 43, Giffard, etc)
.25 oz Rich Simple Syrup (2 parts unrefined sugar of choice: 1 part water; stir until dissolved)
1 oz Heavy Cream
1 whole egg
2 dashes Bittercube Jamaican #1 Bitters (Bittermens Elemakule Tiki Bitters would also work)
Dry shake (no ice) for 15 seconds; add ice and shake another 15 seconds before straining into a chilled double rocks glass. Garnish with freshly grated cinnamon and nutmeg
