Malibu

An incredibly balanced, refreshing grapefruit margarita riff from LA bartender Devon Tarby
The additions of pisco and the white wine-based aperitif brings subtle floral accents to the grass and subtle tropical fruit notes of the blanco Tequila, resulting in a base that works well with the tart grapefruit and lime. The grapefruit liqueur and cordial boost the grapefruit flavor and the bit of Campari gives a bit of juicy bittersweetness and great color
1 oz Blanco Tequila .5 oz Pisco (acholado variant; Brandy from Peru/Chile; Capurro and Encanto make good examples)
.5 oz White Wine-based aperitif (Generally white wine further distilled with spices, botanicals, quinine; Cocchi Americano and Lillet are good examples)
.5 oz Grapefruit Liqueur (Giffard)
.75 oz Fresh Lime Juice
.5 oz Fresh Grapefruit Juice .5 oz Grapefruit Cordial (equal volumes of grapefruit juice and granulated sugar with a bit of grapefruit zest)
Dash of saline solution or pinch of salt
Shake with ice and strain into a chilled coupe. No garnish
