Low Down

A tart, low ABV daiquiri variation from Evan Milliman of Atlanta’s Ticonderoga Club that has an intriguing blood orange-like flavor The citrus notes from the lemon juice and Blanc vermouth combine with the bitter notes from the Campari and Rhubarb amaro to taste like a blood orange crossed with a ruby red grapefruit. The honey syrup adds a touch of deep sweetness that keeps the drink from becoming too thin/acidic .75 oz Blanc/Bianco Vermouth (Dolin, Carpano) .75 oz Campari (feel free to try other bitter Aperitivo of choice) .75 oz Fresh Lemon Juice .5 oz Honey Syrup (2 parts honey: 1 part warm water) .25 oz Amaro Sfumato or Zucca (Rhubarb-based Italian amaro; the Sfumato also lends an intriguing smoke note) Shake with ice and strain into a chilled coupe.
