A bright and refreshing Daiquiri/Hotel Nacional riff with fruit flavors and a touch of smoke 🥭🍑🍍
The flavors of ripe fruits like mango, pineapple, and peach are balanced by the tartness of the lime and the smoke and citrus zest notes of the mezcal. A few dashes of Angostura bitters add some background notes of spices and a pinch of salt makes the flavors pop
1.5 oz Mezcal (Espadin variety)
.5 oz Mango Brandy/Eau de vie (Rhine Hall makes an excellent bottle)
.75 oz Fresh Lime Juice
.75 oz Fresh Pineapple Juice
.25 oz Peach Liqueur (Giffard, Marie Brizard, etc)
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
Pinch of salt
Shake with ice and strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a slice of peach or spear of pineapple or mango
