Kingmaker

A rich, comforting Old Fashioned riff from NYC’s Death & Co that is full of winter flavors The Speyside single malt spends a good deal of time in ex-Sherry barrels and delivers notes of toffee and nuts in addition to the notes of honey and custard present in the Scotch. These flavors play very nicely with the walnut and pear + baking spice notes from the liqueurs while the Aged Jamaican rum adds some notes of poached tropical fruit to the mix while the bitters add ginger, cinnamon, and more nutty flavor 1.5 oz Single Malt Speyside Scotch (Aberlour A’bunadh, Glenallachie, etc) .5 oz Aged Jamaican Rum (Plantation Xaymaca, Golden Devil or Worthy Park 10 yr, etc) .25 oz Nocino (walnut liqueur from Northern Italy) .25 oz Spiced Pear Liqueur (St George) 1 dash Bittermens Elemakule Tiki Bitters 1 dash Walnut or Pecan Bitters (El Guapo, Miracle Mike, Fee Brothers, etc) Stir with ice and strain into a chilled double rocks glass with a large ice cube.
