It’s Not Easy Being Green

A savory, intriguing low-ABV Daiquiri riff with hints of smoke, spice, and coconut 🐸🥒🌶🥥 The dry, white wine-like Manzanilla sherry brings notes of green apple and saline that complement the green chile and smoke notes from the Green Chile vodka and mezcal. The salted cucumber cordial and lime lend notes of the cooling Limon Pepino you can find at certain Mexican/Central American markets. The bitters tie together the flavors and the splash of coconut liqueur adds an important touch of nuanced, tropical sweetness that rounds out the otherwise savory, vegetal notes in the drink. An excellent, refreshing drink for a hot summer evening!
1 oz Manzanilla Sherry (Bodegas Yuste, Lustau, etc)
.5 oz Mezcal (Espadin variety)
.5 oz Green Chile Vodka (St George makes an excellent bottle with jalapeño, poblano, serrano, and cilantro or you can infuse your own)
.75 oz Salted Cucumber Cordial (Blend 1 diced cucumber with 1 cup water and 1 tsp kosher salt; strain and measure volume; add equal volume of granulated sugar and stir until dissolved)
.75 oz Fresh Lime Juice
Tsp Coconut Liqueur (Kalani)
1 dash Celery Bitters (Bitter Truth, etc)
Shake with ice and strain into a chilled coupe. No garnish
