It’s A Rap

Kind of inside, I know...A tropically tinged Old Fashioned variation The hint of toasted coconut in the aged rum is boosted by the Coconut liqueur and this flavor works very well with the hint of peat in the blended scotch and the baking spice/caramelized honey/oak notes in the rum while the bitters boost the spice a bit 1.5 oz Blended Aged Rum (Plantation’s 20th Anniversary XO Rum was really the base for this drink, but imagine other rums that see time in ex-bourbon barrels like Real McCoy could sub) .5 oz Blended Scotch (I like the Great King St Glasgow Blend for its melding of Lowland and Islay Scotch flavors and it’s hint of peat) .25 oz Coconut Liqueur (Kalani) 2 dashes Aromatic Bitters of Choice (Abbott’s, Miracle Mile Forbidden, Angostura, etc) Stir with ice and strain into a chilled double rocks glass with a large ice cube. Option to garnish with an orange or lemon twist, but holds up fine without too
