A refreshing, tropical fruit-forward Gin highball riff from Death & Co NYC that tastes like a gin and tonic on a Caribbean cruise 🚢 🍹🥭🥥
The blend of Navy Strength and London Dry style gins creates a base with notes of juniper, citrus peel, and other botanicals that add backbone and some spice notes to the ripe mango flavors present in both the eau de vie and purée. A splash of coconut liqueur adds complementary rich, tropical fruit notes while the lime juice brings balancing acidic tang. A dash of hopped grapefruit bitters helps bridge the botanicals in the gin with the tropical fruit flavors and the seltzer water adds effervescence
1 oz Navy Strength or Overproof Gin (Genius, Four Pillars Navy Strength, Bimini Overproof, etc)
.5 oz London Dry Style Gin (Tanqueray, Four Pillars Rare Dry, Beefeater, etc)
.5 oz Rhine Hall Mango Eau de Vie (delicious brandy distilled from ripe mangoes)
.75 oz Fresh Lime Juice
.5 oz Mango Purée (add cubed fresh mango, 1/4 C granulated sugar, and 2 Tsps of fresh lemon juice to food processor and pulse until smooth)
Fat .25 oz Coconut Liqueur (Kalani or Clement)
1 dash Bittermens Hopped Grapefruit Bitters
Shake with ice and strain into a chilled Collins glass with ice cubes. Top with 2 oz Seltzer/Soda water (LaCroix Mango works really well). Garnish with a swizzle stick and a cocktail umbrella
