Hula Hips of Heaven

A delightful agave-focused Jet Pilot riff from Chicago Tiki stalwart Lost Lake that brings refreshment and a little bit of baking spice and smoke πŸ—ΏπŸ The earth and citrus notes of the tequila and smoke notes in the mezcal work wonderfully with the grapefruit/lime, cinnamon, and clove (from Falernum) while the bitters add some additional allspice and clove notes 1.5 oz Reposado Tequila (Arette, El Tesoro, etc) .5 oz Mezcal (Espadin variety) .5 oz Fresh Lime Juice .5 oz Fresh Grapefruit Juice .5 oz Falernum (Rum-based clove and lime zest laced liqueur from Barbados) .5 oz Cinnamon Bark Syrup (Crush 3-4 cinnamon sticks with 1/2 C each granulated sugar and water; stir until sugar dissolves; simmer on medium-low heat 4-5 minutes before straining) 1 dash Angostura Bitters 1 dash Absinthe Shake with ice and strain into a chilled Tiki mug or footed pilsner glass with crushed ice. Garnish with a cinnamon stick, grapefruit twist, and swizzle stick #weekendtiki
