Hop Skip Jump

A light, enjoyable beer cocktail (purl) with refreshing grapefruit notes from Chicago bartender Zac Sorensen
The wet-hopped IPA with some nice pine and grapefruit notes (though a normal pale ale will still make a nice drink) echoes the bitter notes in the Cynar while both the Cynar and sweet vermouth bring a touch of sweetness to balance the bitter flavors while the lemon juice brightens things up
1 oz Cynar
.5 oz Punt e Mes (Spanish sweet vermouth with additional bitter notes; can hack flavor by using Sweet Vermouth of choice cut with Amaro Lucano (doesn’t oxidize, like Punt E Mes) in a 2:1 ratio
.5 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
2 dashes Grapefruit Bitters
Pinch of salt
Shake with ice and strain into a chilled footed pilsner glass with a few ice cubes. Top with 4-5 oz of beer. Garnish with an orange half wheel
