Hootenanny

A stonefruit and vanilla forward Sour riff that is sure to be a cure for your Summertime Blues 🌞🍑 The ripe flavor of the yellow nectarine (feel free to sub yellow peach too) works very well with the vanilla notes in the liqueur and the bourbon while the grain whisky boosts the stone fruit aromas and enhances other flavors. The lemon lightens and brightens the drink and the bitters tie the flavors together Muddle three thin slices of ripe yellow nectarine in .5 oz Vanilla syrup or liqueur (Giffard or Licor 43 for latter) Add: 1.5 oz Bourbon (bottle with some vanilla notes like Elijah Craig is particularly good; a nice wheated bourbon could also sub) .5 oz Grain Whisky (Nikka Coffey Grain, these whiskies tend to have smoother mouthfeel and pronounced vanilla and candied fruit notes) .75 oz Fresh Lemon Juice 1 dash Bitter End Moroccan Bitters Shake with ice and strain into a chilled double rocks glass with a few ice cubes. Garnish with a slice of nectarine
