An Old-Fashioned variation that is a great combination of fruit, smoke, and spice from Death & Co’s new Denver outpost The smoke and oak notes from the Islay scotch and bourbon play very nicely with the chicory coffee notes in the St George Liqueur while the Overproof Jamaican rum brings a bit of funk and aromas of ripe tropical fruit that are boosted by the bit of passionfruit 1.25 oz Bourbon (no need to go too fancy; Buffalo Trace, McKenna, etc all work well) .5 oz Islay Scotch (I like Bruichladdich Port Charlotte, but something like Laphroaig 10 works great) .25 oz Overproof Jamaican Rum (Rum Fire, Smith & Cross, etc) 2 tsp Coffee Liqueur (St George NOLA is great, but Galliano, Rieger, a few others also make quality product) 1 tsp Passionfruit Syrup (Small Hand Foods; can use Giffard Passionfruit Liqueur if you have it) Stir with ice, strain into a chilled double rocks glass with a large ice cube. Garnish with an orange or lemon twist
