Guadalajara Won’t Do

A refreshing, yet nuanced beer cocktail/highball that takes an Arnold Palmer/peach tea south of the border 🍑🍹 The flavors of the peach kettle sour conditioned with bourbon barrel oak chips work very nicely with the oak/citrus zest notes in the reposado tequila and allows the drink to showcase the notes of peach and black tea from the liqueurs. The subtle smoke and citrus notes in the mezcal also work nicely with the tannic notes from the black tea liqueur while the lemon adds a bright, acidic punch and the splash of passionfruit liqueur boosts the sweet/tart fruit notes 1.5 oz Reposado Tequila (El Tesoro, Arette, etc) .5 oz Mezcal (Espadin variety works well) .5 oz Fresh Lemon Juice Fat .25 oz Peach Liqueur (Giffard) .25 oz Black Tea Liqueur (BarMatt; Early Grey Tea Syrup would also sub) Tsp Passionfruit Liqueur (Giffard; can also sub Small Hand Foods passionfruit syrup) Shake with ice and strain into a chilled Collins glass with ice cubes. Top with 1.5 oz of fruit-forward kettle sour (preferably one with stonefruit notes; Barebottle’s Cheers Mujeres option is very very nice). Garnish with a lemon wheel #drinkingwiththeDan
