Fra-Jee-Lay

A decadent boozy Affogato that highlights the wonderful flavor pairing of banana, walnut, and chai spices 🍌🥜🍦
The blend of aged Tennessee whiskey, grain whisky, and Cachaca forms a base with notes of baking spice, caramel, vanilla custard, and tropical fruit that highlights the banana flavors in the scoop of Chunky Monkey (or other banana chip) ice cream. Splashes of Italian walnut (Nocino) and banana liqueurs help boost the banana and walnut notes. The imperial milk stout contributes notes of chocolate and chai spice that helps cut through the richness while the chicory/pecan bitters boost the nutty and dark chocolate notes. A superior dessert drink!
Prepare a chilled double rocks glass with a scoop of Chunky Monkey (or other banana/walnut/chip ice cream) and leave in freezer while preparing the rest of the drink
Add the following to a small sauce pan or pot and warm for a few minutes (don’t take to boiling):
1 oz Aged Tennessee Whiskey (George Dickel Single Barrel is great here and has notes of baking spice, caramel)
.5 oz Nikka Coffey Grain Whisky (grain whiskies are smoother with notes of vanilla custard; Nikka is the most commonly available but feel free to use others you might have)
.5 oz Aged Cachaca (Avua Amburana brings great roasted tropical fruit aromas)
.25 oz Nocino (Italian walnut liqueur)
.25 oz Banana Liqueur (Giffard or Tempus Fugit)
1 dash of Pecan or Walnut Bitters (Miracle Mile, El Guapo, Fee Brothers)
Remove the chilled glass with ice cream scoop from freezer and pour the warm mixture over the ice cream. Top with 2 oz Imperial Milk Stout (if you can find a version like Humble Sea’s Paddle Stout with chai spices, even better). No garnish
