El Scorcho

A refreshing Highball riff highlighting agave spirits, tamarind, and a bit of a spicy kick 🍹🌶 The citrus and lime zest notes in the blend of Blanco tequila and mezcal acts as a nice canvas for the tart/slightly sweet tamarind (from both the syrup and tepache) while the lime juice and fermented, carbonated tepache add notes of balancing acidity and effervescence. The Ancho chile liqueur and ghost pepper and cardamom components in the syrup bring complementary spices and some heat while the lime bitters add a bit more lime zest aroma 1.5 oz of Blanco Tequila (100% agave; Tapatio, El Tesoro, Fortaleza, etc) .5 oz of Mezcal (Espadin variety, but feel free to experiment) .75 oz Fresh Lime Juice .5 oz Caged Heat Tamarind/Ghost Pepper/Cardamom syrup (could sub a homemade tamarind syrup with lime zest and chopped habanero; though make with an open window) .25 oz Ancho Reyes Ancho Chile Liqueur 1 dash Scrappy’s Lime Bitters Shake with ice and strain into a chilled Collins glass with ice cubes. Top with 2 oz of Tepache (De La Calle Tamarind Citrus variety is best here). Garnish with a swizzle stick #ithinkidbegoodforyou #youyoudbegoodforme
