A bittersweet Manhattan riff from Halifax Nova Scotia’s Bicycle Thief bar with plenty of spice and vanilla notes The blend of Canadian and Bottled in bond American rye ensures a nice mix of spice and vanilla notes that work nicely with the cocoa and spice notes in the Sweet Vermouth and the addition of Cynar gives a bittersweet undercurrent (and the bitters bridge the flavors and add a whisper of cherry and vanilla 1 oz Canadian Rye whiskey (Lot 40) .5 oz Bottled in Bond American Rye Whiskey (Rittenhouse or New Riff) 1 oz Sweet Vermouth (Cocchi Vermouth di Torino is nice here) .5 oz Cynar (Italian Amaro with medium bittersweet notes) 1 dash Bittercube Cherry Bark Vanilla Bitters Stir with ice and strain into a chilled coupe. No garnish (but feel free to add a brandied cherry if you have them handy)
