A refreshing, tropical Whiskey Sour riff with plenty of vanilla and fruit flavors 🏝🍍🍒🍋
The blended scotch has notes of honey and cereal grains with a touch of peat smoke that works nicely with the vanilla and baking spice notes in the rye and the roasted pineapple notes in the rum. These flavors form a nice base for the sweet/tart passionfruit and the tropical pineapple, while the lemon helps balance the drink by bringing acidity. Small splashes of maraschino and vanilla liqueur add additional complementary flavors
1 oz Blended Scotch (Great King St Glasgow blend has nice balance of flavors and a bit of peat)
.5 oz Rye Whiskey (bottled in bond options like Rittenhouse and New Riff offer more concentrated flavors)
.5 oz Plantation Stiggins Fancy Pineapple Rum
.5 oz Passionfruit Syrup (passionfruit liqueur also works)
.5 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
Tsp Maraschino Liqueur (Luxardo, Marasca)
Tsp Vanilla liqueur or syrup (Licor 43 or Giffard for liqueur)
Shake with ice and strain into a chilled double rocks glass with ice cubes. Garnish with a cocktail umbrella
